HATHRAS: A 25-year-old unmarried man was arrested for allegedly raping his 63-year-old mother in an inebriated condition in a village under the Sikandra Rao Kotwali area, police said on Saturday.According to news agency PTI, a case was registered following a complaint by the accused’s elder brother, who alleged that the incident occurred around 9 pm on Thursday while their mother was asleep at home.The complaint stated that the accused, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, entered the house, overpowered his mother and raped her before fleeing the scene.Sikandra Rao circle officer Amit Pathak said a case was registered based on the elder brother’s complaint and the accused was arrested.The woman was sent to the district hospital for a medical examination, the officer said.Police said the matter was under investigation and further legal action would be taken based on the findings.(The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)(With agency inputs)
