Three buses parked inside the facility were gutted in the fire, while various equipment and materials used for bus body construction were extensively damaged.

NEW DELHI: A major fire broke out at Bhima Coach, a private bus body-building unit in Govindampalayam on the Karur-Coimbatore Road in Tamil Nadu’s Karur district on Sunday, engulfing three buses and destroying equipment and materials used for bus body construction.The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.Dramatic visuals from the scene showed towering clouds of thick black smoke engulfing the sky as flames ripped through the parked buses. The blaze quickly spread through part of the facility, sending dense plumes of smoke high into the air, visible from a distance.Firefighters from Karur rushed to the spot with fire tenders and water tankers, launching an extensive firefighting operation. The blaze was brought under control after nearly three hours, preventing it from spreading further. No casualties have been reported.Videos from the scene captured emergency personnel battling the flames, with fire tenders continuously spraying water as smoke continued to billow from the premises. Rescue teams remained at the site until the fire was fully contained.According to officials, the bus body-building unit is owned by Senthil Kumar. Three buses parked inside the facility were gutted in the fire, while various equipment and materials used for bus body construction were extensively damaged. Officials said an investigation is underway to determine what sparked the blaze.
