Sachin Tendulkar buys 3.86 acres of land in Lonavala for around Rs 70 crore; pays Rs 63.69 crore for largest 3.09-acre parcel, acquires two other properties through 50% undivided shares
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has purchased a 3.86-acre land parcel in Lonavala for approximately Rs 70 crore, according to property registration data accessed by Zapkey. The transaction, registered through three separate conveyance deeds on September 4, 2026, includes multiple land parcels and an existing built-up structure measuring around 2,100 sq ft.The acquisition comprises properties located in Maval Taluka, Lonavala, with the total transacted area measuring approximately 15,601.78 sq m, or around 1.68 lakh sq ft.
Three transactions make up Rs 70 crore deal
According to the registration documents, Tendulkar paid approximately Rs 63.69 crore for the largest 3.09-acre land parcel. The second transaction involved a consideration of Rs 4.56 crore, while the third property was purchased for Rs 1.75 crore.Tendulkar acquired 100% ownership of the 3.09-acre parcel. For the other two properties, he purchased a 50% undivided share, the documents show.The three properties were purchased from Nandan Dhananjay Mehta and Vivaswat Dhananjay Mehta. The transaction involved a stamp duty payment of Rs 4.20 crore, while Rs 90,000 was paid towards registration fees.Based on the overall consideration and the total transacted area, the blended effective rate works out to approximately Rs 4,168 per sq ft across the three conveyance deeds, according to Zapkey.Sachin Tendulkar, Nandan Dhananjay Mehta and Vivaswat Dhananjay Mehta are yet to comment on the deal.

The latest acquisition comes a little over a year after Sachin Tendulkar’s wife, Anjali Tendulkar, purchased an apartment in Virar for Rs 32 lakh in May 2025.According to property registration documents accessed by Zapkey, the apartment is located in Peninsula Heights in Virar, near Mumbai. The 391 sq ft apartment is situated on the third floor of the building.The property was reportedly purchased for a staff member, adding to the Tendulkar family’s real estate transactions in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.Sachin Tendulkar’s latest Lonavala acquisition, however, represents a substantially larger investment, with the three conveyance deeds together amounting to around Rs 70 crore and covering nearly four acres of land.
