Education, jobs, inflation: CJP launches petition asking PM Narendra Modi to address India's youth
The CJP also announced its National Working Committee, appointing Abhijeet Dipke as its national convener

NEW DELHI: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Friday launched an online petition urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to use his Independence Day address to speak directly to India’s youth and outline the government’s roadmap on education, unemployment and the rising cost of living.Sharing the appeal on social media, party’s founder and national convenor Abhijeet Dipke said, “This Independence Day, we want the Prime Minister to address India’s youth. We request the PM to explain what the government is doing for youth regarding education, unemployment and the cost of living.” He also called on people to sign the online petition in support of the demand. The appeal comes a day after Dipke described unemployment as one of the country’s biggest challenges and said the CJP would take up the issue as a nationwide campaign. As per news agency PTI, Dipke was addressing a press conference in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar after a two-day meeting of the party’s core team. He said the protests led by the CJP at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi over the NEET paper leak and alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations had drawn not only students but also unemployed youth from across the country.“Unemployment is a major problem. We will make it a nationwide issue. We will work on education reforms. Education has remained unaffordable since schooling. Education is used for making profits. But we want to change it,” Dipke had said.Calling the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as Union education minister the “biggest achievement” of the students’ agitation, Dipke said the movement had demonstrated the growing concerns of young people over education and employment. The CJP also announced its National Working Committee, appointing Dipke as national convener, while chief spokesperson Saurav Das and spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka were named co-conveners.The organisation said it would expand its presence across the country by forming state, Lok Sabha and city-level units over the next six months. It also announced a membership drive through its website for students, young professionals and workers, while reiterating that it has no immediate plans to enter electoral politics and would instead focus on grassroots mobilisation.(With agency inputs)
