Speaking about the changing political landscape in Tamil Nadu, Madhavan expressed his happiness for his longtime friend Vijay. “Good things are happening. We now have the confidence that change can happen so soon. I know Vijay very well. Now I have to call him CM Vijay. We are friends,” he said in a chat with Behindwoods. When asked if he had any plans to enter politics himself, the actor made his stand clear. “Not at all. Politics is a double-edged sword. Whatever you do, there will always be someone to criticise you. I don’t want to become Chief Minister. I will continue doing the good that I know and respect the person who has been elected democratically,” Madhavan added.

At the ‘GDN’ pre-release event, Madhavan spoke about the effort behind bringing the legendary inventor’s life to the big screen. “When the idea of making this film came up, I asked my producers whether we should really do it because once I commit to something, I go very deep into it. We wanted to do justice to G. D. Naidu’s life,” he said as reported by Cinema Express. The actor further added, “It is painful that many people still don’t know about such a great genius. Through this film, we wanted to introduce him to the world. I truly feel we have done justice to an extraordinary human being.”He also praised G. D. Naidu’s contributions to innovation, agriculture, education and entrepreneurship, saying Coimbatore’s history could have been very different if the visionary had received the recognition he deserved during his lifetime.
