TGBIE extends Telangana Intermediate Admission 2026 deadline to August 15; check reservation rules and new guidelines

Telangana Intermediate Admission 2026: The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has extended the admission schedule for first-year Intermediate courses for the 2026–27 academic session. Students seeking admission to junior colleges across Telangana can now complete the admission process until August 15, 2026, following the revised schedule issued by the board.The extension was announced through a circular issued by the Secretary of TGBIE. The revised timeline applies to admissions in Government, private aided, private unaided, co-operative and various residential junior colleges affiliated with the board. The board has also released instructions regarding reservation rules, admission procedures and compliance requirements for institutions.Colleges covered under revised admission scheduleThe extended admission schedule applies to first-year Intermediate admissions in Telangana Residential, Telangana Social Welfare Residential, Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential, Telangana Model, Backward Classes Welfare, Incentive Junior and Composite Degree Colleges affiliated with TGBIE.The board has advised students and parents to confirm the affiliation status of colleges before completing the admission process. TGBIE has made the list of affiliated junior colleges available through its official portals so candidates can verify whether their selected institution is recognised.

Reservation policy and admission rulesTGBIE has instructed all affiliated junior colleges to strictly follow the prescribed reservation policy during admissions. The board has directed principals to ensure that admissions are provided only on the basis of the candidate’s Grade Point Average (GPA), subject-wise grade points and marks secured in the qualifying examination.The board has also made Aadhaar submission compulsory for all students, including those applying for admission to Government junior colleges. Private unaided institutions have been instructed to admit students only according to the sanctioned number of sections and maintain a maximum strength of 88 students per section.Instructions issued for transparency and student safetyTo maintain transparency, colleges have been directed to display the daily status of sanctioned seats, filled seats and vacant seats at prominent locations on their premises. The board has also issued special instructions regarding admission records for specific categories of students.For children of Jogini women, principals have been asked to record the mother’s name instead of the father’s name, based on details available in the qualifying examination records. Institutions have also been instructed to provide adequate security arrangements for girl students and obtain an Anti-Drug Declaration signed by students and parents during admission.Guidelines for foreign students and collegesTGBIE has reminded colleges about their responsibilities under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025. If a foreign national or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) candidate is admitted, the institution must submit the candidate’s Form-II details to the local police station within 24 hours of admission.The board has warned that institutions failing to follow admission guidelines and statutory requirements may face strict action, including penalties and possible disaffiliation. Colleges have been directed to complete the admission process while ensuring compliance with all instructions issued by TGBIE.
