NEW DELHI: A viral video from Delhi’s Jantar Mantar has shown senior Delhi Police officers telling Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) organisers that they had failed to make adequate arrangements to manage crowds during the outfit’s anti-NEET paper leak protest.According to the video, senior police officers are seen speaking to CJP spokespersons, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurabh Das, saying Jantar Mantar was not meant for protests of that scale without proper planning. The officers say the organisers had not deployed enough volunteers to regulate the gathering despite repeated requests from the police.One officer says he had repeatedly urged the organisers to take action, warning that “criminal elements” were present among the crowd and emphasising the need to deploy volunteers to help maintain order. The officers say they had raised these concerns with the organisers on July 19 and July 20, when attendance at the protest was increasing. They add that they repeatedly cautioned the organisers that the crowd could become difficult to control if adequate arrangements were not made.CJP meeting on 5th August Meanwhile, CJP’s core committee is scheduled to meet at founder Abhijeet Dipke’s residence in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on August 5, according to sources. Sources said party activists and volunteers had been asked to spend time with their families after the conclusion of the month-long protest. Core members were also told to gather feedback from volunteers and students before attending the meeting. The outfit is expected to hold a press conference after the meeting to announce its future strategy. Dipke also met students, local residents and visitors at his residence on Sunday and celebrated Friendship Day with children, sources said. The CJP’s protest over the NEET paper leak gained significant traction among young people across the country and culminated in Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation last week.
