Seven killed, 18 injured in blast at peace rally in Pakistan
At least seven people were killed and 18 others injured in a suicide bombing outside the Kabal Police Station in Pakistan’s Swat district on Sunday.Swat District Police Officer Umar Khan told Dawn News the attacker detonated explosives after officers attempted to stop and search him at the station’s entrance. Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched an investigation.The blast occurred near the police station while hundreds of people were attending a protest at nearby Kabal Chowk against the recent rise in terrorism in the Swat Valley.The injured were taken to Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital for treatment. The explosion sparked panic among protesters, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
