'FIR still not withdrawn': CJP offers legal aid to Noida teen booked over 'abusive' video on PM Modi
Ratna Singh of Cockroach Janta Party spoke with the mother of a Noida teenager. The mother is upset that the FIR remains active despite an apology video

DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Ratna Singh on Sunday said she had spoken to the mother of the Noida teenager who was booked for allegedly using abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. She claimed the girl’s mother was upset that the FIR against her daughter had not been withdrawn despite the teenager releasing an apology video and the Prime Minister publicly calling for forgiveness. Singh also said the party would not pursue any legal action against the teenager and would provide legal assistance, counselling and other support if required.Posting on X, she said, “I just spoke with Ruchika’s mother. She is deeply upset and understandably angry. Despite Ruchika releasing an apology video and Prime Minister @narendramodi publicly stating that she (& others) should be forgiven, the FIR against her child has still not been withdrawn. She is also distressed that sections of the media continue to circulate her daughter’s videos and relentlessly hound the family with questions.““On behalf of Cockroach Janta Party, I assured her that no legal action will be taken against her child. I also assured her that we will extend every possible legal assistance and ensure Ruchika receives any counselling and support she may need during this difficult time,” Ratna Singh added. She claimed the teenager’s mother was relieved by the assurance and said she would reach out whenever any assistance was required. The development comes days after the mother of the teenager thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for publicly appealing against punitive action against the youngsters involved in the protest.Speaking to the media, the girl’s mother said the Prime Minister’s gesture had given her daughter a “jeevandaan” (new lease of life).“PM Modi is the raja of this nation. We are nothing in front of him. He has done such a noble thing by forgiving the girl who abused him so badly. I thank him with folded hands. Today is my daughter’s birthday, and the biggest gift she has received is from PM Modi. He has given her jeevandaan. My daughter has got a new life today,” she said. She also urged the Prime Minister to help secure her daughter’s future.“Modi ji, please adopt this girl and make her future bright. We are ashamed and apologise again and again,” she said. The mother also appealed for the FIR against her daughter to be withdrawn, claiming it mentioned the girl’s age incorrectly.“Please withdraw the FIR. It has the wrong age. Now the girl is under your watch, PM,” she said, adding that her daughter is a 15-year-old minor. The controversy erupted after a video showing the teenager allegedly making abusive remarks against Prime Minister Modi during the CJP-led protest at Jantar Mantar went viral. A Zero FIR was initially registered in Noida and later transferred to Delhi’s Parliament Street police station, as the alleged incident took place in the national capital. The teenager later released a video apologising for her remarks, saying she had been influenced by people at the protest and describing it as her “first and last mistake.”
