The Los Angeles dream home that legendary Hollywood actor Diane Keaton spent nearly a decade designing and transforming has found a buyer, nine months after the Annie Hall star’s death. The property, which was most recently listed for $22.9 million, is now under a contingent offer, meaning a buyer has been found and the sale is moving toward closing.Keaton, who died in October 2025 at the age of 79, bought the Sullivan Canyon property for $4.7 million in 2011 and spent eight years turning it into her dream residence. Drawing inspiration from Pinterest, she documented the creative journey in her 2017 book, The House That Pinterest Built. The residence is widely believed to be the final home she designed during her lifetime.
From $28.9 million listing to pending sale
According to Realtor.com, Keaton first listed the estate for $28.9 million in May 2025, just months before her passing. The listing was withdrawn after her death before returning to the market in December 2025 for $26.9 million. It was relisted again in June 2026 at $22.9 million, with celebrity real estate agent Josh Flagg handling the sale.The listing has now been updated to “contingent,” indicating that an offer has been accepted, although the final sale price has not been disclosed.
A Pinterest-inspired masterpiece

The five-bedroom, seven-bathroom estate was rebuilt from the ground up in 2015 using reclaimed brick and elements salvaged from the original structure that once occupied the site.The official listing describes the property as “the culmination” of Keaton’s lifelong passion for architecture and design.

Unlike many of the historic homes she bought, renovated and later sold throughout her career, Keaton once admitted this was the first property she truly considered her forever home.Speaking about the house while promoting The House That Pinterest Built, the Oscar-winning actor said she had always struggled to find a home where she wanted to “land and stay.”“Something’s right, because I love it,” she said, describing the Sullivan Canyon residence as her “dream home.”Keaton also revealed that her lifelong desire to live in a brick house stemmed from her childhood love of The Three Little Pigs, a story her mother frequently read to her.

Inspired by New York and filled with personal touches
Although located in Los Angeles, much of the home’s design was inspired by Keaton’s former New York apartment in a 1930s Beaux-Arts building, where she first developed her passion for architecture.The residence combines reclaimed Chicago bricks, soaring wooden beams, skylit interiors and vintage architectural elements with modern design features. Among its standout spaces is a circular room inscribed with lines from Gerald Stern’s poem Lucky Life, while another staircase bears the poignant quote: “Look, we don’t have that much time.”The home also features expansive built-in bookshelves filled with model houses and collectibles, a dramatic white brick fireplace, and an office designed like a real-life Pinterest mood board, complete with magazine clippings, artwork and photographs covering an entire wall.
Sale likely to be overseen by her children
Property records show the estate remains registered to a trust under Keaton’s birth name, Diane Hall. The sale is expected to be managed by her adopted children, daughter Dexter and son Duke, who are the primary beneficiaries of her estate.For Keaton, the Sullivan Canyon home represented far more than another renovation project, it was the culmination of decades spent blending architecture, storytelling and personal expression into spaces she believed could truly feel like home.
