Russell Wilson and Ciara make a major post-retirement move as they relist their $45 million California estate at a lower asking price | NFL News
Russell Wilson‘s post NFL life is bringing another major change for his family. Weeks after ending his playing career and stepping into broadcasting, the Super Bowl-winning quarterback and his wife, Ciara, have reportedly renewed efforts to sell their sprawling California mansion. The couple has now reduced the asking price of their Rancho Santa Fe estate, signaling they are ready to close one chapter and begin another as their priorities shift.
Russell Wilson and Ciara relist Rancho Santa Fe mansion with lower asking price
Wilson and Ciara first purchased the Rancho Santa Fe property, known as Amor Estate, in 2021 for $14.5 million while he was still the franchise quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks. At the time, the estate reflected both of their careers, blending professional sports facilities with creative spaces for music production.Late last year, the couple placed the mansion on the market with a $54.9 million price tag. After months without a sale, they have reportedly lowered the asking price to $45 million, a reduction of nearly $10 million, in hopes of attracting new buyers. The estate totals nearly 30,000 square feet and features amenities for both high performance and luxury living. The main house has seven bedrooms and there is a separate guest house with two bedrooms for guests.Highlights of the property include a professional-quality soccer pitch. Wilson allegedly converted a former horse arena into a personal training facility where he would hold off-season workouts with teammates and other NFL players. The estate also features a wellness and fitness center of 3,800 square feet with a sauna and cold plunge, a game pavilion and a large 10-car garage.Ciara also left her personal mark on the home by building a standalone professional recording studio, giving the Grammy-winning artist a dedicated space to work without leaving the property.
Russell Wilson’s career transition explains California property sale
The timing of the sale comes as Wilson begins a new phase of his professional life. After officially retiring from the NFL last month, the veteran quarterback accepted a role with CBS Sports as an analyst for The NFL Today pregame show. His broadcasting responsibilities are expected to keep him based primarily on the East Coast, particularly in New York City, where CBS operates its Broadcast Center. That shift makes maintaining a massive estate in Southern California less practical than it once was.The Rancho Santa Fe mansion is also part of a broader pattern in Wilson’s real estate decisions over the past several years. Since leaving Seattle in 2022, he and Ciara have steadily sold properties connected to different stages of his football career.Among those sales was a Bellevue waterfront lot in Washington, which was sold in 2022 after Wilson joined the Denver Broncos. Following his stint in Denver, the couple also sold their Cherry Hills Village mansion in Colorado in 2024. Another Bellevue waterfront mansion changed hands later that same year. With the Rancho Santa Fe estate now back on the market at a lower price, Wilson and Ciara appear ready to complete another transition. Their latest real estate move reflects more than a change of address. It mirrors the shift from an NFL career built around training camps and game days to a new future centered on broadcasting, entertainment, and family life.
