‘Carry Tiranga, avoid political flags’: CJP releases do’s and don’ts for ‘Chalo Sansad’ march | Delhi News
NEW DELHI: As preparations intensified for the proposed ‘Chalo Sansad’ march from Jantar Mantar to Parliament on Monday morning, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) released a list of guidelines for participants, urging them to maintain discipline and ensure the protest remains peaceful and non-violent.The poster, circulated ahead of the march scheduled to begin at 9 am, outlines several do’s and don’ts for demonstrators while calling for a peaceful assertion of democratic rights. The poster also carries the slogan “#DharmendraPradhanMustResign”, linking the protest to demands over issues including alleged examination paper leaks.CJP’s Advisory for ProtestersThe organisers urged participants to:
- Carry only the Indian national flag (Tiranga) and avoid bringing political or organisational flags.
- Bring a copy of the Constitution or photographs of national icons such as Dr BR Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi, or Bhagat Singh.
- Raise only positive slogans, including “Jai Hind”, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, “Inquilab Zindabad”, “Jai Bhim”, and “Jai Bharat”.
- Record the proceedings, while noting that the truth requires no spokesperson other than participants themselves.
- Maintain peace and remain non-violent under all circumstances.
Don’ts announced by CJP for participants
- Don’t show up hungry – Eat breakfast before arriving at the protest.
- Don’t forget a cap or dupatta – Protect yourself from Delhi’s July heat.
- Don’t stay silent on mischief – Report any suspicious or disruptive activity to the police and on social media.
- Don’t come alone if possible – Attend the march with a friend, neighbour or family member.
- Don’t misuse the national flag – Hold the Tiranga with respect and ensure it does not touch the ground, in accordance with the Flag Code.
Sonam Wangchuk calls march ‘second freedom movement’Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who is currently admitted to Safdarjung Hospital, described the mobilisation as “India’s second freedom movement” in a handwritten message shared through his wife, Gitanjali J. Angmo, on social media platform X.The note read: “20th July. India’s second freedom movement. Freedom from injustice (like paper leaks). Freedom from fear (my illegal detention). March to the Parliament. Please make it a big success.”The message concluded with the words:“Sent through Gitanjali from my illegal detention at Safdarjung.”Wangchuk alleged that his detention was unlawful and appealed to supporters across the country to join the Parliament march.Abhijeet Dipke’s message to Delhi PoliceSocial activist Abhijeet Dipke also addressed the Delhi Police ahead of the protest, accusing authorities of provoking a larger mobilisation.“You made a big mistake by kidnapping Sonam Wangchuk. You’ve caused Jantar Mantar to fill up. Now if you disrupt us here, all of Delhi will be filled with protesters.”Tight security across DelhiMeanwhile, the Delhi Police has deployed additional personnel across the national capital, particularly around the Parliament complex and adjoining areas. Security has been intensified with multi-layered barricading, vehicle checks, anti-sabotage inspections and enhanced surveillance in New Delhi, Central Delhi and parts of North Delhi.Police sources said the organisers had not obtained permission for the proposed march towards Parliament.“We are determined not to allow any unauthorised march towards the high-security zone,” police sources said.Authorities have declared several entry points around the Parliament area as high-security zones and have increased patrolling to prevent any breach of security during the planned demonstration.
