A 1940s Glendale home with ties to Hollywood actor Ralph Bellamy has found a buyer just a week after hitting the market for $4.795 million. The 1.25-acre property, located near Griffith Park, features a Tudor-style residence, equestrian facilities, a pool and extensive private grounds.The Riverside Rancho property was once owned by actor Ralph Bellamy, the Tony Award-winning performer known for films including His Girl Friday, The Wolf Man and The Awful Truth, for which he received an Academy Award nomination.It is not known exactly when Bellamy lived at the home.Located just a short distance from the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Griffith Park, the property offers its own extensive equestrian setup, including stables, a barn, tack storage and a fenced riding arena.The listing was handled by Brit Schneeman and Emil Schneeman of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.
Seller calls it an ‘urban ranch’

The property’s seller, marketing executive Zihla Salinas Arbit, highlighted its combination of privacy, landscaping and proximity to Griffith Park.“There is nothing like it so close to the city,” Salinas Arbit said, according to Mansion Global.“It is an urban ranch like no other with gorgeous mature landscaping, complete privacy and our own direct trail access out to the 60 miles of ridable trails in Griffith Park.”Salinas Arbit and her husband, Oren Arbit, purchased the property in December 2021 for $4.15 million, according to PropertyShark records.

A dark blue-gray bar with a small stained-glass window adds to the home’s old-Hollywood atmosphere.The Arbits renovated the interiors during their ownership, while also updating the barn and equestrian facilities.“We did a lot of renovations to update the home for our family while preserving the natural charm of this California ranch-style home,” Salinas Arbit said.

Before putting the property on the market earlier this month, the seller obtained approved architectural plans and permits for a three-bedroom, two-bathroom addition.The property was listed for $4.795 million and went into contingent status just one week after being listed, according to the report.The combination of its Hollywood history, large grounds and equestrian facilities made the Glendale property a distinctive offering close to Griffith Park and central Los Angeles.
