J&K: Search operations launched in Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua after suspicious movement | India News
NEW DELHI: Security officials have launched search operations at nearly a dozen places in Rajouri, Poonch and Kathua districts of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday after reports of suspicious movement, as news agency PTI cited officials.The searches are being carried out jointly by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, CRPF and BSF in remote and forested areas of the three districts.In Rajouri, searches are under way at Peer Khana, Potha Narota and Andh villages in Kalakote, and Thanda Pani and Kansar in Sunderbani. In Kathua, security forces are searching Panjwari, Kathera and nearby areas.

In Poonch, the operation covers Upper Kasbalari, Theratopa, Nagal Gali, Kalaban and Patnateer in the Mendhar sector.Security personnel are checking forests, natural hideouts and other areas where suspected persons could be hiding, officials said.No suspected person has been found so far, they said.Security forces, however, remain on alert and are carrying out joint searches to trace any suspicious individuals and rule out the presence of terrorists or anti-national elements.
