A 14-year-old student in Georgia has achieved the highest possible score on the SAT, completing a test generally associated with students much further along in high school. Ashrit Talluri of Fulton County earned a perfect 1600 on the exam, according to FOX 5 Atlanta and The Independent, with additional reporting from outlets including Andhra Jyothy confirming his academic background and current studies. The SAT has a maximum score of 1600, made up of Reading and Writing and Math sections, each scored out of 800. College Board data places a 1600 in the 99+ percentile among its comparison groups.
A much earlier start to the SAT
Talluri’s academic path had already moved beyond the usual pace before he sat for the exam. While in middle school, he completed 14½ high school credits. That coursework helped him qualify for college-level summer programs at Harvard and Rice.His father and middle school counselor encouraged him to take the SAT, and he registered in January. He then spent about five months preparing, working with a tutor, using online study material and completing more than two dozen practice tests. FOX 5 reported that he had already achieved a 1600 on three practice SATs before taking the official examination.Talluri eventually took the official test in June. The waiting period that followed was particularly significant because his result went through verification before being released. When the score arrived, it showed a perfect 1600.The achievement is notable partly because of Talluri’s age. College Board’s SAT percentile comparisons are based largely on students in grades 11 and 12 or recent graduating classes, while Talluri was only 14 when he took the exam.
He is already taking college courses
The SAT result is only one part of Talluri’s academic workload. He has now entered ninth grade at Fulton County’s Innovation Academy, where he is taking two college-level courses through dual enrollment. His interests also extend beyond conventional classroom work. Talluri participates in hackathons around the Atlanta area and is involved in chess and aviation. His public LinkedIn profile also lists interests and activities spanning artificial intelligence, medicine, computer science and research.Rather than leaving test preparation behind after achieving his own goal, Talluri has continued working with SAT material. He spends some of his free time creating practice questions and exploring strategies that could help other students prepare for the exam.
From test preparation to a future in medicine
Talluri has said he hopes to become a neurosurgeon, a career that aligns with his interest in both medicine and technology. His public professional profile describes him as a student interested in AI and medical applications, while also listing projects and extracurricular activities connected to those fields.His profile also identifies him as the founder of CerebroAegis, a project focused on using smartphone sensors for potential stroke screening and health-safety support. The project is presented as an AI-based health technology initiative rather than as a substitute for medical diagnosis.For now, however, Talluri is still a ninth-grade student balancing college-level coursework with extracurricular interests and academic competitions. His perfect SAT score may have come years earlier than expected, but his academic path is continuing to move forward. The next stage will involve the same combination of advanced coursework, technology interests and preparation that has already taken him well beyond the conventional school timeline.
