Beyond the spotlight: How Cristiano Ronaldo's wife Georgina Rodríguez quietly built her own activewear brand, Mimoa

Georgina Rodríguez has spent years living under one of the biggest spotlights in sport, but her latest move puts the attention somewhere else. The model, entrepreneur and longtime partner of Cristiano Ronaldo has launched Mimoa, an activewear and lifestyle label built around comfort, movement and everyday life. Rather than making the brand simply another celebrity fashion project, Rodríguez has positioned Mimoa around a clear idea: women should feel comfortable in what they wear without feeling pressured to change their bodies. That message now sits at the centre of her growing business identity.

Georgina Rodríguez turns her fashion experience into Mimoa

Rodríguez’s move into activewear did not come out of nowhere. Long before Mimoa, fashion had become a major part of her public identity. Her career began far from the world of celebrity campaigns. Vogue Arabia reported that Rodríguez worked as a shop assistant at Gucci in Madrid in 2016, around the time her life changed dramatically after meeting Ronaldo. As her profile grew, so did her relationship with fashion. She later appeared in Vogue editions and worked with major names including Chopard, Charlotte Tilbury, Guess and Moncler. That experience gave her something many celebrity-founded brands struggle to build: a personal connection with clothing.Mimoa takes that experience into a category Rodríguez knows from her own lifestyle. The brand describes itself as a premium activewear and lifestyle label designed for women who move between different parts of their day. A workout might be followed by school runs, errands, meetings or dinner. Mimoa aims to fit into all of those moments instead of treating exercise as the only reason to wear active clothing. That distinction is important. The modern activewear market has moved far beyond gym clothes. Leggings, fitted tops, sweatshirts and sports jackets now sit comfortably alongside everyday wardrobes. Mimoa is entering that space with the idea that one outfit can follow a woman through several parts of her day.

Mimoa puts comfort at the centre of its activewear

The strongest part of Mimoa’s identity is its message around comfort. The brand’s official story says its pieces are created to move with the body rather than against it. Rodríguez has also described the thinking behind the label in deeply personal terms.“I created Mimoa from a feeling, that a woman’s body is not something to fix.”That sentence explains much of the brand’s direction.Instead of selling activewear as a tool for achieving a different body, Mimoa presents clothing as something that should work with the body a woman already has. Its official philosophy focuses on softness, stretch, fit and ease, with the body itself treated as the starting point for design. That is a notable change from some traditional fitness marketing, which often links sportswear with transformation. Mimoa takes a different route. Its language is less about correcting flaws and more about making clothing feel natural. The brand’s FAQ makes a similar point. Mimoa says it is designed for women who want performance and everyday wear to exist together, while also placing femininity and comfort on equal footing. That positioning gives Rodríguez a clear space in a crowded market. She is not trying to compete only on technical sportswear. She is selling a lifestyle.

Georgina Rodríguez’s Mimoa collection goes beyond the gym

Mimoa’s current range reflects that wider approach. The official store features tops, sports bras, leggings, shorts, hoodies, sweatshirts and other pieces that can be combined into full looks. Its collections include names such as Your Flow, Your Classics and Your Form, giving the range a more fashion-led identity than a traditional sports uniform. The colour choices also support the everyday focus. Alongside black and grey, the brand offers softer and brighter options across different collections. Some pieces are designed to be worn as sets, while others can work as separate wardrobe staples.Current listings show items such as striped straight leggings, zip jackets, hoodies, Bermuda sweatshorts and seamless T-shirts. Prices vary by market, with European listings showing pieces from around €39 to €69 and US listings displaying selected items at prices such as $55 and $97.That product mix reveals something about the business strategy.Mimoa does not appear to be built around a single viral item. Instead, Rodríguez is developing a wardrobe that can cover different situations. A woman might wear leggings for a workout, a zip jacket for travel or a sweatshirt for a casual day out.The result is closer to an everyday lifestyle collection than a narrow gymwear label.

Georgina Rodríguez is building an identity beyond Ronaldo

Perhaps the most interesting part of Mimoa is not the clothes themselves. It is what the brand says about Rodríguez’s career.Being connected to Cristiano Ronaldo has placed her in a unique position. Her relationship with one of football’s biggest stars brought enormous attention, but Rodríguez has spent years developing a public identity of her own.Vogue Arabia noted that she deliberately worked to establish an image beyond being known simply as Ronaldo’s partner. That effort has included her Netflix series I Am Georgina, fashion work, brand collaborations and major public appearances.Mimoa fits naturally into that progression. There is a difference between appearing in a campaign and owning the idea behind a brand. With Mimoa, Rodríguez is presented not only as its face but as its founder. The company’s own website places her name and philosophy at the centre of its story. That gives the project a more personal foundation. Her lifestyle also makes activewear a believable category. Rodríguez has spoken about a daily routine built around family, children, the gym and life on the move. Her public image has long included fashion and fitness, so Mimoa connects several parts of the persona she has already developed. The bigger challenge now is turning that personal following into a lasting fashion business.Celebrity can create attention. It cannot, by itself, guarantee repeat customers.Mimoa will ultimately have to earn those customers through fit, quality, comfort, design and consistency. Its current strategy suggests Rodríguez understands that. The brand is not relying solely on her name. It is trying to establish a point of view. That may be the most important part of Mimoa’s story.Georgina Rodríguez already knows what it feels like to be watched. With Mimoa, she is attempting something different: creating something people can choose for themselves. The spotlight may have helped open the door, but the clothes will have to keep it open.
