“I was harassed, I complained, and yet I had to resign”: Employee shares how complaining against seniors causes more damage than one can imagine
A woman named Ritica has shared a video on Instagram explaining why she decided to resign from her job. In the video, she alleged that she faced repeated harassment at work, raised complaints with HR and senior management, and felt that her concerns were not properly addressed. She also claimed that after she continued raising complaints, the situation became more difficult, and some of her juniors were allegedly pressured to write complaints against her.
She first complained about workplace harassment
Explaining her decision in the video, Ritica said she is someone who speaks up when she believes something is wrong. She alleged that certain people at her workplace were troubling her and that she eventually approached the HR department. She said, “Mujhe bahut pareshaan kiya jaa raha tha. So I’m a person who is very vocal about it, ki mere saath agar ho raha hai to galat ho raha hai.” Ritica claimed that after she complained, the HR department did not resolve the issue and instead questioned whether someone was influencing her. According to her, HR asked, “Ritica aapko brainwash kaun kar raha hai? Aapko influence kaun kar raha hai inn sab cheezon ke liye?” She said the question angered her because she felt her concerns were being dismissed rather than addressed. She subsequently complained about the HR representative to senior HR.
She claims the issue continued despite multiple complaints
Ritica said the matter eventually reached senior HR, but according to her, she still did not receive a satisfactory solution. She explained, “Senior HR ko bhi involve hona pada. Iske baad bhi mera issue resolve nahi hua to maine unki bhi complaint kar di ki ye sab mujhe torture kar rahe, mujhe target kar rahe hain par koi solution nahi nikla.” Ritica then alleged that the situation worsened after she continued making complaints. She claimed that some senior employees were working together and that her juniors were pressured to submit complaints against her. She said, “Mere juniors ko pressurise kiya gaya mere against mail karne ko so that they have document against me so that they can terminate me.” Ritica added that she eventually became aware of what was allegedly happening and decided to resign rather than continue in the situation.
‘I wish you get the same support and help in future’
According to Ritica, she submitted her resignation after believing that the situation was no longer going to improve. She also described a later conversation with the management. She said, “Kal jab mera call hua to unhone kaha, ‘Ritica, you resigned. Hum tumhe itna help kar rahe the, itna support kar rahe the.'” Ritica said the response did not match her experience and ended her account with a pointed remark: “Really, I wish you get the same support and help in the future.” Her video has drawn attention because it highlights her account of how workplace complaints were handled and why she ultimately chose to leave the organisation.
