Mukherjee Nagar Harassment Case: ‘Tried to pull me into SUV’: DU student alleges eve-teasing by group in Delhi; FIR filed | Delhi News
NEW DELHI: A Delhi University student was allegedly harassed by a group of men travelling in a car in northwest Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar area, following which police registered a case on Thursday.The incident took place around 9:30 pm on Wednesday when Delhi University student Naman was driving the car. He was accompanied by two to three other persons when the alleged offence took place.“Police launched an inquiry based on the complaint and traced the car allegedly used in the incident,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Akansha Yadav said.An FIR has been registered at Mukherjee Nagar police station under sections 78 (Stalking), 79 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 3(5) (Common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).On the basis of a complaint from a woman student in Mukherjee Nagar that an SUV driver tried to pull her into the vehicle after he passed comments at her, the police have registered a case and are investigating the matter, said Delhi Police.(With Agency Inputs)
