NOIDA: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Tuesday took its ‘School Theek Karo’ campaign to Noida, with party spokesperson Saurabh Das announcing an audit of schools in the city and urging young people across Uttar Pradesh to inspect institutions in their own neighbourhoods.Das said the team would visit schools in Noida to assess the conditions in which children are studying and document the findings.He said Noida was considered one of the better districts in Uttar Pradesh and that the team would assess whether its schools matched that perception.“Today, we’ve come to Noida. We’re going to audit some schools here as part of our ‘School Theek Karo’ campaign. We’ll see the conditions in which children are studying. Noida is one of the better districts in UP, so hopefully, the school conditions will be good too. Whatever the situation is, we’ll show you the reality.”The CJP spokesperson also appealed to young people in Uttar Pradesh to take up school audits in their respective areas and document the conditions of schools and the education being provided to children.“We want young people from UP to go out and audit schools as well—to show what condition the schools in their neighbourhoods are in and what kind of education children are receiving. Today, we’re planning to visit schools in Noida, but we’d encourage other young people to take on this responsibility too and audit schools in their own areas…” Das said.
CJP’s ‘School Theek Karo’ campaign
The CJP had launched its nationwide ‘School Theek Karo’ campaign in August, describing it as a social-audit drive focused on government schools and basic facilities.The campaign calls on citizens and volunteers to inspect schools and document issues related to infrastructure and essential amenities.The campaign’s first audit was conducted at a government school in Santuk Pimpri village of Maharashtra’s Hingoli district, where CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke highlighted issues including lack of drinking water, benches, dirty washrooms, broken windows and inadequate water supply.Subsequent CJP audits have also focused on classrooms, drinking-water facilities, toilets, benches and material used for preparing midday meals.(With agency inputs)
