Famed actor Alan Ritchson, best known for his ongoing series ‘Reacher,’ has confirmed that he and his wife, Catherine, have mutually agreed to part ways. The two are calling it quits on their marriage after being together for almost 20 years. On Saturday, the two took to Instagram to share the news that they were parting ways after nearly 20 years together. They shared a lengthy and emotional statement on Instagram detailing how they mutually reached the decision.

Their post read, “After twenty years together, Cat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way. We grew up together. We built a life and a family together. And we are raising three incredible boys who will always be the center of our world.”They also wrote that they still have a lot of love and respect for one another and that the years they spent together are truly cherished. “The best gift we can give one another—and our boys—right now is friendship, grace, and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be. We also want to give each other room to grow into the people we are becoming,” the statement added.Asking fans for some distance and privacy in the matter, the couple concluded their post by mentioning, “We hope, especially for the sake of our boys, that you will allow our family to move through this chapter with privacy and compassion. Thanks for supporting us as we continue making the health and happiness of our family our priority.” Lastly, they signed the post-off as “Alan and Cat.”In another report that was later shared online by TMZ, it was revealed that the 43-year-old actor had earlier filed for divorce in December last year. The outlet further stated that the two had reconciled in March earlier this year; however, they have now come to the inevitable conclusion of their relationship.

The long-running couple had met each other for the first time when they enrolled in the same ballet class when they were teenagers. Years later, however, they reconnected when Catherine started attending the University of Florida after graduation, while Alan was visiting Miami for a modelling shoot at the time. They kept their relationship quiet and got married in 2006. Since then, while neither of them is all that public about their relationship and their family life, they have shared glimpses over the years with fans. Not only that, but they have three children: Calem, Edan, and Amory, who sometimes accompany them to work events, and the family of five has been photographed together on red carpets.In 2023, while talking on the ‘Road to Wisdom’ podcast, Catherine recalled what it was like to meet the actor all those years ago during the dance class.
