NASHIK: A chilling new video has surfaced in the Nashik highway attack case, capturing the dramatic moments when one of the attackers clung to the side of a tourist family’s speeding SUV as they desperately tried to flee.The graphic footage shows the man clinging onto the moving vehicle for a considerable distance while allegedly attempting to assault the occupants inside.Moments later, he loses his grip and falls onto the middle of the highway as the vehicle speeds away.The video has emerged days after a family from Nashik alleged that they were chased for nearly 15 km and attacked by a group of men following an altercation on the Mumbai-Agra highway.According to the family, the incident began after the woman objected to harassment by some youths travelling in another vehicle.The confrontation soon escalated, with the group allegedly pursuing the family’s SUV and attacking it with rods.The family has claimed that the attackers repeatedly rammed their vehicle and smashed its windows during the chase, which unfolded in front of the couple’s daughters.In their complaint, the victims alleged that the ordeal began after the woman protested against inappropriate behaviour by the group.What followed, they said, was a terrifying pursuit that continued for several kilometres before the family was allegedly assaulted.Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.The newly surfaced video is expected to form a crucial part of the probe into the attack.
