Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang joins the list of CEOs who disagree with Bill Gates warning on AI; says: Don’t forget ...
Jensen Huang, CEO, Nvidia.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is pushing back against the growing warning that AI could leave millions of people without jobs. While Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates has warned that AI could eventually cause massive unemployment, Jensen Huang says the technology will also create a huge number of new jobs. “Don’t forget the chip plants that are being created—packaging, computer plants, and all of the AI factories being created—hundreds of thousands of jobs are being created as we speak,” Huang said on Fox Business last week. The Nvidia chief believes the AI boom will not simply remove jobs. Instead, he expects the nature of work to change, while demand grows for workers needed to build the infrastructure powering the technology.

Jensen Huang says AI will change jobs, not end work

During the interaction, Jensen Huang acknowledged that some jobs will disappear as AI becomes more capable. But he said history shows that major technological advances also create new types of work.“Everybody’s job changes,” Huang said. “Some jobs will be eliminated. Many new jobs will be created. If you go back and look at history and technology, revolutionary technology comes along, incredible advances come along.”Jensen Huang’s comments come after Gates warned that the impact of AI on employment could be much larger than many people expect. Huang, however, remains optimistic about the future of work. He also believes traditional white-collar jobs will continue to exist, while the growing AI infrastructure industry could create major opportunities in skilled trades.

Nvidia CEO sees a boom in skilled trade jobs

Jensen Huang has repeatedly highlighted electricians, plumbers, carpenters and other skilled workers as some of the people who could benefit from the AI boom. “Having a large population of skilled labor and people who build things, that make things with their hands, is tremendous for the United States,” the 63-year-old Nvidia CEO said.Huang previously said that the skilled trades could see a major boom because of the number of new factories and data centers being built.“If you’re an electrician, you’re a plumber, a carpenter—we’re going to need hundreds of thousands of them to build all of these factories,” Huang told Channel 4 News in the UK in September 2025. “The skilled craft segment of every economy is going to see a boom. You’re going to have to be doubling and doubling and doubling every single year.”
