Asim Riaz breaks silence on ex-girlfriend Himanshi Khurana’s Islam conversion claim; says ‘Never asked anyone to change their religion’

Bigg Boss 13 runner-up Asim Riaz has finally broken his silence on ex-girlfriend Himanshi Khurana’s allegations where she claimed that the model-turned-rapper asked her to convert or change her religion. Asim has denied the comments made by the actress about their past relationship through a social media post. Himanshi during a recent podcast appearance spoke about their dating days and the differences in their faiths.The reality star penned a lengthy note on his Instagram account Sunday (August 23). While Asim did not mention Himanshi’s name directly in the post, he alleged that religion was being brought into the matter to portray him negatively. He asked her not to make a personal issue public or turn it into a controversy.Taking to his social media account, Asim wrote, “I never asked anyone to change their religion. Not once. Matter of fact, I was the one who pushed you towards fitness. You’ve been in this shape only after meeting me before that, everyone knew how you looked. So please, don’t use religion as a weapon. It’s a deeply sensitive subject, and turning something so personal into a reason for people to hate me is immature and only shows how low you’re willing to go for attention.”Asim did not stop here, he went on to mock Paras Chhabra for his weight and called him a ‘pig’. “And to the man behind the microphone, sitting there with his stomach hanging out like a pig while making gossip his profession brother, respectfully, I’d suggest spending a little less time discussing other people’s lives and a little more time in the gym,” he added.

The controversy started after Himanshi addressed reports claiming that she had considered changing her religion while she was in a relationship with Asim. The actress said she would not describe it as “conversion.” Without naming Asim, she explained that her then boyfriend had shared the good things about his religion with her and wanted her to understand and respect them.During the podcast, Himanshi indicated that the topic of religious conversion had come up during their conversation. She shared, “He used to tell me the good things about his religion. Everyone tells you about those things; there is nothing wrong with that. They wanted me to understand it and accept it, but it was not acceptable to me. There was nothing wrong with him, he never misbehaved with me, but it was my own choice that I did not want to do something like that.”According to Himanshi, she was told that following her religion might not be possible in the future. She therefore wanted to complete the Char Dham yatra and visit other pilgrimage sites before making a decision. “Aisa feel hua ki main apne Bhagwan ko dhokha de rahi hoon. I felt I wouldn’t be able to do this anymore. So I said I want to visit Char Dham and all the pilgrimages before that, because after that I would never be able to meet them. It was like I was saying goodbye.”For the uninitiated, Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurana met on the reality show Bigg Boss 13. During that time Himanshi was already in a 9-year long relationship with Chow. However, after she came out of the show, the actress had a breakup with her then boyfriend.After their stint on the show, Himanshi and Asim continued dating for several years. However, the couple parted ways in 2023 after being together for around four years. While announcing their breakup, the couple had cited that their relationship ended due to their religious differences.
