Google CEO Sundar Pichai has shared a quiz highlighting how Google Search can now help students prepare for a wide range of exams, from the SAT and ACT to India’s JEE and NEET. Sundar Pichai’s post came as Google announced new education features across Search, Gemini, YouTube and other tools ahead of the new school year. The company says the updates are designed to help students understand difficult topics, prepare for tests and stay organised. In the post on X, Pichai’s quiz lists SAT, ACT, AP, ENEM, GRE, JEE, LSAT, MCAT and NEET, before giving the answer as “All of the above!”
Google Search gets new study features
In its official announcement, Google says students will be able to use Search to take practice quizzes for any subject, including standardised tests. The company is also adding tools that can create interactive visuals to help students understand difficult concepts. Google Lens will offer step-by-step learning support, while students will be able to use notebooks to organise projects and create custom files for their studies.These features are part of Google’s wider push to make its education tools useful for both classroom learning and studying at home.
Gemini gets new tools for students
Google is also adding a dedicated student hub in Gemini. It is designed to help students organise their studies and access Gemini’s learning tools in one place. One of the new features is study notebooks, which use diagnostic quizzes to identify areas where a student is strong and where they need more help. Gemini can then create shorter study plans based on the student’s learning goals.Students can also use Gemini Live to discuss Deep Research reports while on the move.
Google offers AI plans to students
Google is also offering new AI-related benefits to eligible college students. Eligible college students in the US can get one year of Google AI Pro for free, which includes access to Gemini Spark, higher usage limits and 5TB of storage.Eligible college students outside the US can get Google AI Plus for free, with higher usage limits and 400GB of storage. Google is also offering bundled discounts on Google AI Pro and YouTube Premium in those markets.
