HINGOLI: A government school in Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke’s native Santuk Pimpri village in Maharashtra’s Hingoli district has received its first-ever computer, days after he flagged gaps in basic facilities at the institution.Dipke shared the development on his X account on Tuesday, writing, “When the Govt Fails, People Step Up! First ever computer arrives at my village. Change is possible!”The development comes after Dipke visited the Zilla Parishad-run school in Santuk Pimpri village on August 15 as part of the CJP’s ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign. He had flagged broken window panes and other gaps in basic amenities during the visit.The local gram panchayat subsequently began repair work, with Santuk Pimpri sarpanch Vijay Puri saying damaged windows were being replaced and defunct CCTV cameras repaired. The school also arranged round-the-clock water supply in washrooms after a shortage was flagged.The latest development comes as Dipke continues visits to government schools in Hingoli under the campaign.At a government school in Dhegaj village, Dipke took exception to students allegedly sweeping their classrooms. “This is completely wrong….When there is cleaning staff, why are the kids sweeping classrooms?” he was seen asking teachers, who said they had not instructed students to clean the classroom.Students told Dipke, “We want notebooks, pens and shoes.” He assured them these would be provided and said, “We will also install a tubelight, new blackboard in the classroom.”At another school in Siddheshwar village, Dipke alleged that students were drinking unclean water despite a water filter remaining unused for three years. He also flagged a leaking tin shed and said villagers had spent Rs 10 to 12 lakh on the school compound and other facilities.
