‘Makes my blood boil’: CJP backs Bengal school student, seeks arrest of those behind his father’s death

KOLKATA: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has extended support to Abdul, a student in West Bengal who visited the government school where he once studied, and called for the immediate arrest of those responsible for his father’s death.In a post on X, Dipke said Abdul had gone to inspect the school after speaking out about the condition of government schools. Dipke alleged that Abdul’s father was killed after he and his family were attacked by men allegedly linked to the BJP.“It makes my blood boil that people are being murdered simply for demanding better schools,” Dipke said in the post.Dipke said a CJP team would visit West Bengal and work with Abdul and his family to seek justice. He also called on authorities to arrest those responsible for the alleged killing.“CJP stands firmly with Abdul and his family,” Dipke said, adding that the organisation would continue its campaign for better government schools despite threats or attempts at intimidation.Dipke’s post came after he launched the ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign, under which he has been visiting government schools and highlighting gaps in basic facilities.The campaign calls for a social audit of government schools, with parents and residents asked to document issues such as drinking water, electricity, functional toilets, benches and mid-day meals.In an earlier school audit in his native village in Maharashtra, Dipke had highlighted a lack of drinking water, dirty washrooms, broken windows and inadequate water supply.He has said the campaign will be expanded to government schools across the country.
