The Chief Minister shared photographs from the hospital visit on social media, showing the actor-politician resting in his hospital bed.Taking to Facebook, Adhikari updated the public about Chakraborty’s health and wished him a speedy recovery. \u201cRenowned film actor and one of the members of the Central Committee of BJP<\/a>, Mithun Chakraborty, is admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata due to physical illness. I went to the hospital to meet him today. I spoke to him and took information about his physical condition. I pray to the merciful God for his speedy recovery,\u201d the Chief Minister said in his post on Facebook.Speaking to reporters later, Adhikari revealed that Chakraborty had undergone a minor operation on Thursday night and said the veteran actor had wanted to keep the matter private.\u201cHe had informed our party\u2019s state president and me in West Bengal, Samik Bhattacharya, regarding it last night. He did not want publicity over the development. He is doing well. Will be released soon,\u201d the Chief Minister said.Adhikari also interacted with the doctors treating Chakraborty and expressed confidence about his recovery. Calling the actor an invaluable figure for the state, he highlighted his contributions beyond politics.\u201cHis identity is beyond just his political life. His contribution behind the beginning of a nationalist government in West Bengal is immense. A small operation was performed.
