In an interview with The Economist, Musk said: \u201cDario did dig his own grave here regarding Mythos because he said, \u2018Mythos is super scary, terrifying, also by the way, we\u2019re going to release it.<!-- -->\u201d \u201cIf you terrify everyone and then say, \u2018Oh we\u2019re releasing this terrifying thing,\u2019 people will obviously be alarmed about that,\u201d the world\u2019s richest person continued. Musk was responding to the interviewer Zanny Minton Beddoes question on 75% of Americans being worried about AI.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/>\u201cI mean, you\u2019ve literally told them to be scared, and then you release the scary thing, and so they will be scared. That is natural.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"6\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>Elon Musk on job cuts because of AI<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"8\"\/>During the interview, Elon Musk was asked if he agrees with Dario Amodei\u2019s prediction of AI taking over 50% of engineering jobs. <!-- -->He replied saying: \u201cI do think it\u2019s going to be a bumpy road because AI will be able to do any job better than any person can do that job. And that will be true very quickly of jobs that are digital or really anything that involves a person at a computer or on a phone. AI could do all of that. We\u2019ll be able to do all of that very soon\u201d.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/>\u201cFor software engineering, we already have a situation where AI is better than at least 90% of humans at writing software\u2014 90% of professional software engineers at writing software. And it really is getting to the point where it\u2019ll be better than 99%. And then it\u2019ll get to the point where there\u2019s just no way to compete. It\u2019ll get to what I call Stockfish level,\u201d Musk further added.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"18\"\/>Stockfish, Elon Musk explained \u201cis the chess program that is so good at chess that it will easily beat Magnus Carlsen or anyone at chess, even running on a small computer\u201d. <span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"20\"\/>\u201cI suspect that you could probably run Stockfish on your phone and beat Magnus Carlsen. That\u2019s how good it is at chess.
