She wants them to grow up believing that women leading businesses, owning sports teams and making big decisions should feel normal, not extraordinary.The moment reflected a journey Brittany has been building for years. Through women’s sports, business and community work, she has worked to create more opportunities for women while using her platform to push for lasting change beyond football. <\/p>\n Brittany Mahomes received United WE’s inaugural Champion for Change Award during the organization’s 35th anniversary celebration. She was recognized for her leadership, entrepreneurship and investment in women’s professional sports, particularly through her role as a co-owner of the Kansas City Current. United WE also highlighted her community work through the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, which she runs alongside Patrick Mahomes.United WE President and CEO Wendy Doyle called Brittany Mahomes “a new model of leadership,” saying she continues to expand opportunities across industries as an entrepreneur, investor, sports owner and mother. Doyle also praised her for using her influence to make a lasting impact on women’s sports and beyond instead of waiting for change to happen.That impact can already be seen in Kansas City. Brittany has been one of the driving forces behind the Kansas City Current’s rise into one of the biggest success stories in women’s sports. The club is now valued at $325 million, making it the second-most valuable franchise in the NWSL, while CPKC Stadium has become the first stadium in the world built specifically for a women’s professional sports team.When Brittany Mahomes took the stage, however, she chose to speak less about achievements and more about the next generation.She said, “It’s the smartest play on the board.”She said investing in women is not simply the right thing to do. It is an investment that creates stronger communities and bigger opportunities.Standing inside CPKC Stadium, she reflected on what the venue represents. She added, “Being here at CPKC Stadium means so much to me. This building alone is a powerful symbol of the incredible growth and impact our collective efforts have made for women in leadership and women’s sports.”The heart of her speech came when she spoke about her children. “We talk a lot about setting an example for the next generation, and as a mom, my goal isn’t for my daughters and my son to see women’s leadership as an inspiration. I want them to see women in positions of power and leadership as the norm. I want them to grow up in a world where women owning a team or a company is the standard.”She ended with the line that drew the biggest applause. “And I want them to know that being a mother and an athlete, an entrepreneur, or whatever they want to be, isn’t just a balancing act. It is a power move.”Brittany Mahomes also said the work is far from finished. “We are here to build real equity and create spaces where women don’t just have a seat at the table, but they own the building that the table sits in.”After the ceremony, Brittany Mahomes shared photos from the event on Instagram and thanked United WE for the recognition. She said she was honored to receive the award at a stadium that represents “what it looks like when women’s needs are prioritized in sports and in the workplace.”Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes quickly celebrated the moment.
