He is survived by his elderly parents and five older sisters. Police have arrested the security guard, Vinod Kumar, 53, an ex-serviceman.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/>Police said the incident took place around 10.30am when Vinod was loading cartridges into his 12-bore double-barrel gun.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"6\"\/>The firearm allegedly discharged accidentally, and the bullet struck Manish in the back<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"8\"\/><\/p>\n<div data-pos=\"0\" class=\"id-r-component iIpbx undefined  &#10;        \">\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"How events unfolded\" msid=\"132721718\" width=\"\" title=\"\" placeholdersrc=\"https:\/\/static.toiimg.com\/photo\/83033472.cms\" imgsize=\"\" resizemode=\"4\" offsetvertical=\"0\" placeholdermsid=\"47529300\" type=\"thumb\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/static.toiimg.com\/photo\/msid-132721718\/how-events-unfolded.jpg\" data-api-prerender=\"true\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Vinod later told police that he reported late for duty Tuesday and by the time he started loading the cartridges, customers and bank employees had already started pouring in.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"13\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>Vinod private firm staffer, served in Army till 2018<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"15\"\/>The sound of the gunshot sent customers and the staff into panic. People rushed towards the entrance after hearing the loud bang and found Manish lying in a pool of blood.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/>Police received a PCR call around 11.06 am alerting them about the incident. The caller informed cops that the guard\u2019s firearm had gone off and a man had been shot and was critical. Investigators said he was posted at the bank as part of his security duties. He has two sons \u2014 one is pursuing an MD course while the other is studying MBBS.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"24\"\/>Police have seized the weapon involved in the incident and sent it for forensic examination. A post-mortem examination of the deceased has been conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death. The report is awaited.
