His wife, Mirka Federer, supported him for more than two decades, while his parents, Robert<\/a> and Lynette Federer, gave him the values that shaped both his career and his character. Even when injuries, surgeries and retirement tested him, Federer always made one thing clear, his biggest strength was the people who never stopped believing in him.<\/p>\n Roger Federer met Mirka Federer during the 2000 Sydney Olympics when both were representing Switzerland in tennis. They soon fell in love, but Mirka\u2019s own playing career ended in 2002 because of foot injuries.Instead of leaving the sport, she chose a different role. She managed many parts of Federer\u2019s life away from the court, helped with travel, handled media responsibilities and made sure he could focus only on tennis. It became one of the biggest comeback stories in tennis.When Federer finally retired at 41 during the 2022 Laver Cup, his family stood beside him for one last emotional moment. Speaking after his final match, he said he wanted people to celebrate the occasion rather than feel sad.\u201cI told the guys I\u2019m happy, I\u2019m not sad. It feels great to be here and I enjoyed tying my shoes one more time. Everything was the last time\u2026 It does feel like a celebration to me. I wanted to feel like this at the end and it is exactly what I hoped for, so thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n Long before the trophies and worldwide fame, Federer was simply a young boy learning tennis in Switzerland with the support of his parents, Robert and Lynette Federer. They encouraged him to work hard, stay humble and respect the game, lessons that stayed with him throughout his career.As he reflected on his journey during his farewell ceremony, Federer became emotional while thanking them for everything they had done.\u201cWithout my mum, I would not be here. Thank you to her and my dad. It has been incredible\u2026 My god.\u201dHe also looked back at a career that had gone far beyond anything he had imagined.\u201cIt was never supposed to be that way. I\u2019m just happy to play tennis and spend time with my friends, really. And ending it here, it\u2019s been a perfect journey. I would do it all over again.\u201d<\/p>\n Federer\u2019s achievements speak for themselves, but a lot of people admire him almost just as much for how he always put his family first. Through wins, injuries and retirement, he never really stopped thanking the people who helped him get to the very top. His story proves that success isn\u2019t built by only one person.
