Around 5.30pm, relatives living nearby checked on the house and found her hanging from a ceiling fan,\u201d inspector Hanuman Gaikwad, of Karjat police station, told TOI.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/>The police identified the deceased as Ankita Sangle, who had been preparing for NEET through online coaching classes. Gaikwad said a note, purportedly written by the student, was recovered from the house.<\/p>\n<div class=\"Qkqxz\">\n<h2>CJP Jantar Mantar Protest Updates<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"8\"\/>Gaikwad added that the note stated she was taking the extreme step because she was disheartened by her performance in the NEET re-examination. \u201cShe also apologised to her parents and brother, saying she had been unable to meet their expectations and describing herself as an average student,\u201d he said.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"10\"\/>\u201cAnkita had scored 166 marks in the re-exam against a cutoff of 177,\u201d Gaikwad said.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"12\"\/>The Karjat police have registered a case of accidental death.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"15\"\/>Expressing grief over the incident, NCP (SP) MLA <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/rohit-pawar\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rohit Pawar<\/a> posted on X: \u201cCame to know about extremely sad news even as the student movement in Delhi was achieving success. Having lost confidence amid the NEET mess, Ankita, a student from Jalalpur in Karjat, ended her life. We share in the grief that has befallen her family. On June 20, 21-year-old Yash Gosavi from Karanji village in Nashik\u2019s Niphad taluka allegedly died by suicide a day before the NEET re-test.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"26\"\/>Family members said he had been confident of securing an MBBS seat before news of the paper leak and subsequent re-examination left him distressed.
