Police approached the then AAP govt with the proposal to withdraw 17 cases.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"9\"\/>\u201cThe file related to the cases was sent by then LG <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/anil-baijal\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anil Baijal<\/a>\u2019s office to the then Delhi home minister <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/satyendar-jain\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Satyendar Jain<\/a>. It was approved by Jain and sent to the chief minister\u2019s office. <\/p>\n<div class=\"Qkqxz\">\n<h2>CJP Jantar Mantar Protest Updates<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p>The CMO then sent the file to the LG\u2019s office on Feb 28 and the LG approved it the same day,\u201d an officer who had handled the cases at that time recalled.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"18\"\/>On the student protest cases, Delhi Police has sought legal opinion on the withdrawal of the FIRs.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"21\"\/>Another option would be to approach <!-- -->Delhi High Court<!-- --> with a request to quash the cases.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"25\"\/>Police registered over 15 FIRs in connection with the violence at the protest. They also said anti-social elements have been identified and booked.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"28\"\/>Police will leave students or individuals without any criminal antecedents out of the probe\u2019s ambit for now<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"30\"\/>The cases have attracted charges of unlawful assembly, assault on public servants, criminal conspiracy, violation
