Police launched inquest proceedings. The remains will be taken to his native place for the last rites, officials said.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"7\"\/>In a similar tragedy last month, an Army officer died after slipping from a steep mountain ridge and plunging into a deep gorge on June 6 during Operation Sheruwali in Rajouri district. Lt Beereshwar Goswami was leading a search party along a narrow ridge when he lost footing and fell into the gorge.
