An HAPS is a lighter-than-air stratospheric system designed for long-endurance aerial surveillance, intelligence gathering and earth observation.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"11\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"ce6Q9 vdo_embedd\">\n<div class=\"wdxcl\">\n<p>DRDO Eyes Laser Weapons For ALH Dhruv And Rudra Helicopters To Take On India&#8217;s Growing Drone Threats<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"13\"\/>Defence minister Rajnath Singh has complimented DRDO, IAF, PSUs and industry on the successful flight trial of HAPS and stated that the \u201csuccessful trial is an important milestone in India\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/aatmanirbhar-bharat\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aatmanirbhar Bharat<\/a> journey towards realising a long-endurance stratospheric airship\u201d.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/>The high-altitude platform, a lighter-than-air system as a long-endurance stratospheric aerial surveillance platform, is being designed and developed by Aerial Delivery Research and Development Establishment (ADRDE), Agra.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"20\"\/><\/p>\n<div data-type=\"in_view\" class=\"  \">\n<div class=\"sQLTU timeline_pollWrapper_as \" data-scrollga=\"scroll#poll_view\">\n<div>\n<p>Poll<\/p>\n<p>Do you believe that the successful trial of HAPS will enhance India&#8217;s defense capabilities?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"22\"\/>Real-time video data and all other vehicle parameters were acquired from the airborne platform at the ground control station during the entire flight, which showed the intended flight performance.
