German authorities have repeatedly accused Moscow of conducting a hybrid campaign targeting the country and its allies. Russia has denied the allegations.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"13\"\/>Jaeger said Germany had \u201cbecome a major obstacle to Russia\u2019s projection of hegemonic power in Europe &#8212; and, consequently, a target of Russian actions\u201d.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"16\"\/>He said the BND currently sees \u201cno indication\u201d of plans for a major Russian military attack on a NATO member. However, he warned that \u201clow-level Russian military activities could occur, particularly in the Baltic states\u201d.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"18\"\/>Russia has repeatedly denied any intention of attacking NATO countries.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"20\"\/>&#8220;We are not threatening anyone,&#8221; Russian president Vladimir Putin said on Thursday. &#8220;We have no intention of attacking anyone &#8211; whether in 2029, 2030 or 2050 &#8211; but if we are subjected to aggression, we will have no choice but to respond.&#8221;<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"23\"\/>The warning came as German Chancellor Friedrich Merz travelled to Kyiv on Sunday in a show of support for Ukraine as Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities intensified.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"25\"\/>\u201cIf Russia is not stopped, its war machine will sooner or later turn against us,\u201d Merz said, adding: \u201cYou can continue to count on our help.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"27\"\/>Germany has provided Ukraine with more than \u20ac43.3 billion ($48.8 billion) in aid since the war began and remains one of Kyiv\u2019s largest supporters.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"30\"\/>Merz and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy also visited a damaged building of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in central Kyiv.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"32\"\/>\u201cThese barbaric attacks on the civilian population of Ukraine must stop. These are daily war crimes,\u201d Merz said at the site, while calling on Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"35\"\/>Russia\u2019s foreign ministry, meanwhile, has said it would continue carrying out \u201cmass retaliatory strikes\u201d on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"38\"\/>Germany\u2019s domestic intelligence chief, Sinan Selen, said Russian operations were extending beyond traditional espionage.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"40\"\/>\u201cSabotage and assassinations\u201d were increasingly part of the threat, Selen said, adding that \u201cthe defence industry and military infrastructure are in the crosshairs\u201d.<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a
