Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, White House envoy Steve Witkoff, CIA director John Ratcliffe and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen Dan Caine were among those who attended.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"8\"\/>\u201cThings were decided or at least deeply discussed,\u201d one US official said, referring to the Middle East crisis.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"10\"\/>The White House did not comment on the meeting.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"12\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2><b>Iran talks and a possible return to combat<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/>The meeting came as Trump faces a decision over the future of the US campaign against Iran.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"16\"\/>With negotiations stalled, Trump has been considering whether to resume major combat operations. On Thursday, he issued a stark warning over the talks, saying: \u201cNow I have to make a decision: either Iran signs the deal, or it won\u2019t exist any longer.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"19\"\/>Trump was asked about his next move on Iran on Friday afternoon while his advisers were meeting at Camp David.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"21\"\/>\u201cIf I told you, you would have a major story,\u201d Trump told reporters. \u201cBut you will see. It is working out very well. Iran is not doing well.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"24\"\/>The Camp David discussions also covered the escalating Saudi-Houthi conflict in Yemen.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"26\"\/>Saudi Arabia is preparing a possible offensive against the Houthis and has been urging Trump to support the campaign with US airstrikes.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"29\"\/>Trump has so far been leaning against joining the operation, although US officials said he could change his position.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"31\"\/>The meeting was notable because such high-level discussions at Camp David have been rare.
