They allegedly continued moving towards the Indian side, following which BSF personnel opened fire, killing both, sources said.Their identities had not been established till the filing of this report.Another intruder attempting to cross into India escaped and turned back towards Pakistan after reportedly coming under fire, sources said.Senior security sources said the reason behind the attempted infiltration was suspicious as smugglers have been increasingly using drones to send narcotics, weapons and ammunition across the border.Sources said investigators were examining whether the two were carrying any weapons and attempted to infiltrate with a specific assignment or to link up with contacts. Some BSF officials apprehended that the two men could have been on a suicidal mission, though they stressed that this was only a preliminary suspicion.

Source link

The incident — second in Tarn Taran sector in the past seven months — occurred near the border out post at Rajoke village under Khalra police station.
