Mohanlal’s love for organic farming has given a unique character to his Elamakkara home in Ernakulam, Kochi. Away from film sets, the actor cultivates vegetables and other crops for his household.His home garden includes several vegetables commonly used in everyday cooking. Bitter gourd, tomatoes, lady’s finger, long beans, green chilies and eggplants are grown organically on the premises.In a video shared by the actor in 2021, the garden also features lettuce, papaya, corn, bottle gourd and tapioca. Mohanlal has continued the cultivation for several years, making it a part of his routine at home.<\/p>\n

Mohanlal’s home has a flourishing vegetable garden<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

Mohanlal has maintained the organic garden beside his Elamakkara residence for years. His busy acting career has not stopped him from pursuing his interest in growing food. Lettuce, papaya, corn, bottle gourd and tapioca are also part of the cultivation.<\/p>\n

Actor revealed his farming routine during lockdown<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

Mohanlal introduced his fans to his organic farming activities during the 2021 lockdown. With people staying indoors, the actor used the period to showcase an activity he had already been pursuing.He shared a cinematic-style video from his home. Along with the video, Mohanlal wrote, “Organic Farming during lockdown at my home. Thanks to my Team behind the lockdown videos.”<\/p>\n

Mohanlal had been growing vegetables for years<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

In the video, Mohanlal revealed that his farming efforts were not something he started during the lockdown. He said he had already been growing vegetables needed for his kitchen.At the time, the actor said he had been cultivating them for around four or five years. His garden therefore reflected an interest that developed well before the pandemic. Mohanlal’s message also focused on making organic farming accessible to people with limited space. He pointed out that having a large yard is not essential to start growing vegetables.The actor suggested that people could use grow bags for cultivation. He also mentioned terraces as another option for those without enough space around their homes.<\/p>\n

The video also gave fans a glimpse of Mohanlal’s Elamakkara residence. The house is surrounded by greenery and has a separate garden filled with flowering plants and shrubs. Although Mohanlal spends considerable time at his beachside residence in Chennai, he enjoys staying at his Elamakkara home when he is in Kerala.As reported by Moneytree Realty, Mohanlal’s primary residence is a waterfront bungalow located in Thevara, Kochi.On the work front, Mohanlal was last seen in a cameo appearance in his daughter Vismaya Mohanlal’s debut movie ‘Thudakkam’. The film was directed by Jude Anthany Joseph.
