Following the landmark $2.5 billion settlement reached by the Trump-Vance FTC, Amazon started sending payments in November 2025 to eligible Prime customers affected by misleading enrollment and cancellation practices.<!-- --> By September 2026, Amazon issued over $845 million in refunds to eligible Prime customers. FTC has now revised the settlement with Amazon, making more Prime customers eligible for the refund. Under the revised settlement order, Amazon will send automatic refunds to eligible Prime customers starting October 1.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"5\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>What was the lawsuit about<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>According to the FTC\u2019s lawsuit, Amazon:<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"8\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"cdatainfo   id-r-component \" data-pos=\"9\">\n<ul>\n<li>allegedly enrolled tens of millions of customers in Amazon Prime subscriptions without their knowledge or consent<\/li>\n<li>made it difficult for customers to cancel their Amazon Prime subscriptions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>As the result of the Trump-Vance FTC\u2019s historic settlement, Amazon is required to pay $1.5 billion for refunds to customers affected by its unlawful Prime enrollment and cancellation practices. <!-- -->Amazon is also required to pay a $1 billion civil penalty and cease unlawful enrollment and cancellation practices for Prime subscriptions.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>Who is eligible for a refund<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>Under the revised settlement order, you are eligible for a refund if you meet all three requirements:<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"cdatainfo   id-r-component \" data-pos=\"18\">\n<ul>\n<li>You are an Amazon Prime customer in the United States.<\/li>\n<li>You signed up for an <keyword id=\"39552985\" type=\"Denny\" weightage=\"20\" keywordseo=\"Amazon-Prime-subscription\" source=\"keywords\">Amazon Prime subscription<\/keyword> through a \u201cchallenged enrollment flow\u201d or tried to cancel through the online cancellation flow but were unable to do so between June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025.<\/li>\n<li>You used no more than 20 Amazon Prime Benefits (including Prime Music or Prime Video products offered for free to Prime subscribers) in any 12-month period following Amazon Prime enrollment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>The \u201cchallenged enrollment flows\u201d are universal Prime decision page, shipping selection page, single page checkout, or the Prime Video enrollment flow.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"20\"\/>No action is needed to receive a refund. You do not have to file a claim, respond to a notice, or complete any forms. Amazon will send automatic payments to eligible customers.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"24\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>How do I get my payment<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>If you are eligible, no action is needed. Amazon will send automatic refund payments by mailed check or electronic payment (PayPal or Venmo). Payments expire 60 days after the issue date. Please accept your payment on time.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"28\"\/>If you need help with your payment, please contact Amazon at admin@SubscriptionMembershipSettlement.com.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"30\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>When will I get my payment<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>If you are eligible, you will get your refund by April 2027.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"34\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>How much will my payment be<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>Eligible Prime customers will receive refunds for their Amazon Prime subscription fees, with a maximum total payment of $200. Earlier payments under the order were capped at $51 per eligible customer.
