Her daughter, Zhuri James inspired Savanna to invest in the team. Savannah recently became an investor in LOVB Los Angeles, a professional League One Volleyball team, joining an ownership group that includes Alexis Ohanian and <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/issa-rae\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Issa Rae<\/a>. For Savannah, the move is about more than becoming part of a new sports venture. <!-- -->It connects directly to the sport her youngest child has embraced.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"5\"\/>Zhuri has already developed a connection with LOVB after attending the league\u2019s championship event and delivering the ceremonial first serve. Now, with LOVB Los Angeles preparing for its first season in 2026-27, Savannah sees an opportunity to support both her daughter and the wider growth of women\u2019s volleyball.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"7\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>Savannah James credits daughter Zhuri for inspiring her women\u2019s volleyball investment<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>Savannah James did not need to look far for a reason to invest in LOVB Los Angeles. <!-- -->Her daughter\u2019s experience with volleyball gave the decision a personal meaning.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"13\"\/>In a statement, Savannah explained how watching Zhuri play has shaped her view of the sport.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"15\"\/>\u201cI\u2019ve seen firsthand through my daughter Zhuri how powerful volleyball can be for young girls, the confidence, discipline and sense of community it creates,\u201d Savannah said.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/>The perspective has become central to Savannah\u2019s decision to join the ownership group. She sees the investment as a way to help create a pathway for girls who want to follow the same sport.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"21\"\/>\u201cI\u2019m excited to be part of LOVB Los Angeles and to help build something special that girls like Zhuri can aspire to be part of one day.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"23\"\/>Savannah also spoke about the decision in an Instagram post, making clear that Zhuri\u2019s involvement with volleyball was a major factor.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"25\"\/>\u201cIt was important to me to make my investment with LOVB Los Angeles because my daughter is a volleyball player,\u201d she said. <!-- -->\u201cShe is coming up alongside amazing athletes who deserve the recognition that they are getting right now.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"30\"\/>She continued, \u201cSo, any chance that I have to be able to support that or stand behind it and do things that matter in that way, I am 1000% involved.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"32\"\/>Zhuri already has a connection with LOVB. In April, she delivered the first serve at the LOVB Volleyball Championship in Long Beach, California, and later interviewed professional volleyball player Skylar Fields.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"35\"\/>Her involvement also stands out because basketball has been such a major part of the James family. <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/lebron-james\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LeBron James<\/a>, Bronny James and Bryce James have all been connected to basketball, but Zhuri has taken a different sporting path.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"40\"\/>LeBron acknowledged that earlier this year when discussing his daughter\u2019s basketball ability.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"42\"\/>\u201cShe\u2019s a volleyball player, don\u2019t get my wife mad,\u201d he said. \u201cMy wife is done with basketball, she\u2019s done with it.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"45\"\/>LeBron also admitted that Zhuri has still absorbed plenty from growing up around basketball.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"47\"\/>\u201c[Zhuri\u2019s] a volleyball player. But she\u2019s been around the game for a while, so she does got good handles and she\u2019s good form, too. But my wife ain\u2019t playing that. Not another one. She says that\u2019s it.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"49\"\/>For Savannah, the investment gives her a direct way to support something that has already become important to her daughter.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"51\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h3>Savannah James joins Issa Rae as investor in League One Volleyball team<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>Savannah is joining an ownership group led by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian through his investment firm, Seven Seven Six. <!-- -->The group also includes Issa Rae, adding another prominent name to the ownership side of LOVB Los Angeles.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"56\"\/>Savannah shared her excitement about working alongside the group in an Instagram post.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"58\"\/>\u201cSo excited to be alongside Issa Rae and Alexis Ohanian in this journey,\u201d James expressed.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"60\"\/>The investment comes ahead of LOVB Los Angeles\u2019 first season. The team is scheduled to begin play during the league\u2019s 2026-27 season, with home games set for the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"63\"\/>The franchise is also preparing for its connection with fans before the season begins.
