According to a recent Times of India report, a second Sleeper Vande Bharat is being planned between Delhi and Varanasi.<!-- --> As per reports, the train will pass through Kanpur and Prayagraj, potentially giving travellers a new overnight option between the national capital and Uttar Pradesh&#8217;s major cultural destinations. The Vande Bharat Sleeper is designed to make long-distance rail travel more comfortable for passengers.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/>The Railway Ministry in April 2026 said that the New Delhi\u2013Varanasi route had already carried more than 73 lakh passengers, making it the busiest Vande Bharat route.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"8\"\/>Let\u2019s find out more about this new upcoming train service:<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"10\"\/><span class=\"strong\" data-ua-type=\"1\" onclick=\"stpPgtnAndPrvntDefault(event)\">A convenient and modern overnight Delhi\u2013Varanasi option<\/span><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"12\"\/><\/p>\n<div data-pos=\"0\" class=\"id-r-component iIpbx undefined  &#10;        \">\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Vande Bharat Sleeper X\" msid=\"134414696\" imgsize=\"98874\" resizemode=\"4\" width=\"\" title=\"Vande Bharat Sleeper (X)\" placeholdersrc=\"https:\/\/static.toiimg.com\/photo\/83033472.cms\" offsetvertical=\"0\" placeholdermsid=\"47529300\" type=\"thumb\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/static.toiimg.com\/photo\/imgsize-98874,msid-134414696\/vande-bharat-sleeper-x.jpg\" data-api-prerender=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Vande Bharat Sleeper (X)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/>According to the proposed schedule reported by railway officials, the train would leave Varanasi Cantt at around 9:20 PM and reach Prayagraj at approximately 10:45 PM. It would then pass through Kanpur Central around 12:35 AM, before reaching New Delhi at about 5 AM.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"16\"\/>In the opposite direction, the proposed train would depart New Delhi at around 9:20 PM and reach Varanasi at 5 AM the following morning<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"18\"\/>However, these timings are proposed rather than final. The Railway Board has not yet announced the confirmed timetable, train number, fare or date.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"21\"\/><span class=\"strong\" data-ua-type=\"1\" onclick=\"stpPgtnAndPrvntDefault(event)\">A 16-coach train with three classes<\/span><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"23\"\/>The proposed Delhi\u2013Varanasi service is expected to use a 16-coach Sleeper Vande Bharat, according to reports. The train will feature:<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"25\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"cdatainfo modify_cdata_list_style id-r-component \" data-pos=\"26\">\n<ul>\n<li>11 AC 3-tier coaches<\/li>\n<li>Four AC 2-tier coaches<\/li>\n<li>One First AC coach<\/li>\n<li>Capacity: 823 passengers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Sleeper Vande Bharat itself has been developed as a fully air-conditioned train, with ergonomically designed berths intended to make overnight travel easier. The Railway Ministry says the Sleeper Vande Bharat is equipped with modern toilets, while its coaches incorporate systems aimed at improving hygiene and passenger comfort. There are also CCTV cameras in all coaches, another best feature of the train.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"49\"\/>For now, the key attraction is not simply about travelling faster.
