But he also raised the possibility of destroying the Iranian regime “quickly”, saying he could deny it any chance to “kill and destroy again”.“I have a big decision to make. Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before \u2014 maybe one of the greatest in the Middle East or even the world? Or do I annihilate the Islamic Republic, and do it quickly, never giving them a chance to kill and destroy again? Do I drive them into hell with no chance of survival and no hope of future greatness?” Trump said.Trump’s remarks came as the war with Iran remained a major focus of his address to world leaders gathered in New York. He has previously said he was approaching a “big decision” on whether to intensify military action against Iran.The US president also called for continued international pressure on Tehran, while thanking the UN Security Council<\/a> fo an overwhelming vote condemning Iran’s attacks on commercial shipping.“I want to thank the UN Security Council for voting overwhelmingly to pass a resolution condemning Iran\u2019s despicable terrorist attacks on commercial shipping. That resolution, I am pleased to say, received more co-sponsors from UN member nations than any Security Council resolution in history. Now, we must be equally united in maintaining pressure,” he said.Trump then invoked the September 11, 2001, attacks in the US and the October 7, 2023, attack in Israel while making the case against allowing Iran to develop a nuclear weapon.“In America, we just marked the 25th anniversary of the worst terror attack in history, September 11, which killed 3,000 people a few miles from here. In two weeks, we will mark the third anniversary of the October 7 attack in Israel, where terrorists funded by Iran tortured, mutilated, and killed 1,200 innocent civilians, including dozens of Americans,” MAGA supremo said.He again targeted Tehran regime and said: “Iran\u2019s Supreme Leader celebrated that massacre and called it a \u201cservice to humanity.\u201d The same regime slaughtered over 72,000 of its own citizens this year. Just imagine if such a vile regime were ever empowered to carry out large-scale terror attacks from behind a nuclear shield.”“This was the reality we had to confront — a reality that far too many preferred to ignore. After giving Iran every chance for a deal, I took action to ensure that neither the United States, nor any nation in this hall, would ever have to face such a nightmare,” he said.Trump has repeatedly
