{"id":26612,"date":"2026-09-20T14:35:34","date_gmt":"2026-09-20T14:35:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/koshalsambada.in\/?p=26612"},"modified":"2026-09-20T14:35:34","modified_gmt":"2026-09-20T14:35:34","slug":"icai-how-ttd-plans-to-unlock-value-from-land-and-strengthen-its-financial-systems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/koshalsambada.in\/?p=26612","title":{"rendered":"Icai: How TTD plans to unlock value from land and strengthen its financial systems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"e9jwa\">\n<div class=\"vdo_embedd\">\n<div class=\"GfdvZ\">\n<section class=\"_bIDB  clearfix id-r-component leadmedia undefined undefined  E9tg9 \" style=\"top:0px\">\n<div class=\"_bIDB\" data-ua-type=\"1\" onclick=\"stpPgtnAndPrvntDefault(event)\">\n<div class=\"ypVvZ\">\n<div class=\"WGttI\"><img src=\"https:\/\/static.toiimg.com\/thumb\/msid-134370133,imgsize-339466,width-400,height-225,resizemode-4\/ttd-explores-reit.jpg\" alt=\"How TTD plans to unlock value from land and strengthen its financial systems\" title=\"TTD explores REIT route to unlock value from its vast land assets\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"Ta7d_ img_cptn\"><span title=\"TTD explores REIT route to unlock value from its vast land assets\">TTD explores REIT route to unlock value from its vast land assets<\/span><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is working with <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/tirumala-tirupati-devasthanams\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/ttd\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TTD<\/a>) on ways to monetise its land assets through real estate investment trusts (REITs), while also helping the temple trust verify and value its gold holdings.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"6\"\/>The chartered accountants&#8217; apex body is also in the advanced stages of preparing an updated accounting manual for TTD, the official custodian of the Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"8\"\/>An ICAI official said on Sunday that the institute was working with TTD on several projects, including the accounting manual, setting up REITs and valuing its gold assets.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"10\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2><b>REIT plan for TTD land assets<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"12\"\/>REITs allow entities to monetise their real estate assets. <!-- -->TTD has large parcels of land, much of which has been donated by devotees.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/>ICAI President Prasanna Kumar D said on Saturday that work on the accounting manual for TTD was in the advanced stages of completion, according to news agency PTI.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"19\"\/>The project is also expected to serve as a model for other major temples, with the accounting framework, applicability of accounting standards and accounting policies among the areas being covered.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"22\"\/>The ICAI official said TTD had approached the institute for the project.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"24\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2><b>Accounting manual to cover collections, payments<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"26\"\/>According to the official, TTD&#8217;s existing accounting manual was developed around three decades ago and is now being updated by ICAI.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"28\"\/>\u201cSince this is the richest and the largest temple in India, what we hope is that the policy manual which will come for TTD may be followed by the other similar trusts or organisations in India,\u201d he said.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"31\"\/>The project covers all key elements of TTD&#8217;s finances, including collections, payments and the balance sheet.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"34\"\/>Kumar also said TTD wants ICAI to conduct capacity-building programmes for its staff as part of the broader project.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"36\"\/>In June, Kumar had said TTD already had a \u201cfull-proof system\u201d and that its operations were being managed through an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
