We tried every possible way to get out, but nothing worked. We called the Fire and Rescue Services, and they rescued us&#8230; Don&#8217;t worry, we are all okay,&#8221; the Thiruvananthapuram MP told reporters later.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"9\"\/><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"11\"\/>A fire officer said they received a call a little after 7:30pm about Tharoor being trapped in the lift of the hotel and immediately a team was rushed there.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"15\"\/>Upon arriving at the hotel, the team used a hydraulic spreader to pry open the doors of the lift and rescued the Congress leader and the others trapped with him at around 7:51pm.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/>The incident occurred when Tharoor arrived at the hotel to attend the installation ceremony of the Rotary Club of Trivandrum East.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"19\"\/>He later felicitated the Fire and Rescue Services personnel for their swift response.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"21\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a
