We maintain an independent foreign policy; we do not align ourselves based on the dictates of other nations but rather act in the best interests of our own country,\u201d he said.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"13\"\/>He also reiterated India&#8217;s position on the tariffs being imposed, saying, \u201cWe have consistently maintained that the tariffs being imposed are unfair, and we do not operate under pressure from any other nation.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"15\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h3>Energy remains \u2018primary concern\u2019<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>On India&#8217;s energy needs, Singh said the government would continue to source energy based on what is commercially viable and economical.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"18\"\/>\u201cEnergy is a primary concern for us; we will source energy for our country and our people from wherever we find commercially viable and economical options,\u201d he
