The Board will first have to advertise the position and then conduct interviews before naming a replacement, making the appointment process likely to take some time.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/>As reported earlier by TimesofIndia.com, former India wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel has emerged as a <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/sports\/cricket\/news\/parthiv-patel-frontrunner-for-chief-selector-if-ajit-agarkar-bcci-fail-to-agree-extension\/articleshow\/134330891.cms\" rel=\"noopener\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\">strong contender to replace Agarkar<\/a> if the BCCI and the current chairman do not agree on an extension.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"22\"\/>If appointed, Parthiv would become the most experienced member of the current selection panel with 25 Test appearances. The other members are SS Das (23 Tests), RP Singh (14 Tests), Pragyan Ojha (24 Tests) and Ajay Ratra (6 Tests).<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"24\"\/>The selectors announced India&#8217;s squads for the upcoming home white-ball series against West Indies earlier this week. Their next major responsibility will be selecting India&#8217;s Test and India &#8216;A&#8217; squads for the tour of New Zealand in October and November.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"26\"\/>India will play five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests against New Zealand, while India &#8216;A&#8217; will play three unofficial Tests against New Zealand &#8216;A&#8217; in a shadow
