Trump hits out at Supreme Court<\/span><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday attacked the Supreme Court after it rejected his administration\u2019s push to restrict mail-in voting in this year\u2019s midterm elections, saying the justices who ruled against him were \u201cnot the people I interviewed.\u201dThe court, in an emergency order late Monday, found that the restrictions would likely not withstand legal scrutiny, at least for this year\u2019s election.\u2018Not enough time\u2019 for mail ballot changes<\/span>The Trump administration had made a last-minute push for the US Postal Service to play a central role in determining who could receive mail ballots. But state election officials argued there was not enough time to implement the changes before the November 3 midterm elections, saying existing systems were already secure and accurate.Trump, however, accused the court of failing to \u201cdo the right thing\u201d for the country and said its decision would be remembered negatively in history.\u2018These are not the people I interviewed\u2019<\/span>In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the Supreme Court was being \u201cbullied and cajoled by the Radical Left\u201d into making decisions that had \u201cset America back at least a hundred years.\u201dThree justices nominated by Trump during his first term \u2014 Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh \u2014 also ruled against his administration in Monday\u2019s decision.\u201cThese are not the people I interviewed to serve on the United States Supreme Court, they are merely a shell of their original selves,\u201d Trump said.He further accused the court of issuing \u201cshockingly bad rulings\u201d that he claimed were costing the US \u201cTrillions of Dollars\u201d and could make it difficult for the country to \u201crecover or heal.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
