Several states have already begun sending mail ballots to voters, making a last-minute overhaul of the system particularly disruptive.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/>The justices upheld a lower-court order blocking new requirements that the Trump administration had sought to impose through the US Postal Service (USPS). Trump has repeatedly criticised mail voting and has claimed, without evidence, that it can enable non-citizens to vote and is vulnerable to fraud.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/>Twenty-three states and Washington DC challenged the order, arguing that it infringed on their constitutional authority to administer elections.
