But after the Spirit&#8217;s 3-0 loss, the US soccer star travelled north and entered Shelton&#8217;s box before the end of his 6-3 7-6(2) 5-7 6-2 defeat. She was wearing a shirt with Shelton&#8217;s face on it.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/>&#8220;I knew \u200cit was going to be pretty close to impossible \u200cto get \u200chere, but even just making the effort and trying is \u2060insane,\u201d Shelton told reporters. <!-- -->&#8220;She kind of showed up as \u200bI was losing, which for her probably sucked.&#8221;<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"9\"\/>Even Zverev referred to Rodman&#8217;s arrival during his on-court victory speech.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"11\"\/>&#8220;Trinity, I thought you had a game today,\u201d the German joked. &#8220;You&#8217;re the lucky charm &#8230; not today, but usually.&#8221;<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"16\"\/>Rodman and Shelton went public with their relationship in March 2025 and have since become one of the most visible young pairings in American sports. They regularly travel to support each other.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"19\"\/>Rodman has attended Shelton&#8217;s tournaments, including his title runs in Dallas and Stuttgart this year, while Shelton has also attended Washington Spirit matches.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"21\"\/>Rodman had also watched several of Shelton&#8217;s matches during his run at Flushing Meadows, including his quarter-final win over defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, which ended at 3:33 a.m., the latest finish in US Open history.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"23\"\/>&#8220;We&#8217;ve made a lot of sacrifices for each other,\u201d Shelton said. &#8220;We&#8217;ve travelled the world to try to support each other when we can.&#8221;<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a
